Dear Scouter I am pleased to confirm that your group has received a tentative 2005 Philmont Expedition. The 2005 Expedition fee is $495 per participant. A non-refundable, non-transferable reservation fee of $50 per participant is DUE JANUARY 30, 2004. This is your FINAL NOTICE - if reservation fees are not received by the deadline, your reservation will automatically be cancelled. To avoid financial risk, we recommend fees be collected in advance from each participant. The enclosed reservation form must be approved by your local council and returned with your payment. A subsequent payment of $222.50 per person will be due October 1, 2004 and the balance of $222.50 per person is due March 1, 2005. If your plans have changed and your group decides to cancel, please do so in writing. In the event your group cancels, you may not transfer this reservation to another unit. Please note, the minimum age required to attend Philmont is 14 by January 1 of the year attending OR have completed the eighth grade and be at least 13 prior to participation, without exception. Also, each crew (7-12 participants) must have a majority of youth and is limited to a maximum of four (4) adults over 21 years of age. No crew of fewer than 7 or greater than 12 will be allowed. Philmont has implemented height/weight. limits to improve the health and safety of participants. Basically, a participant's weight must be proportioned to their height. A copy of the height/weight chart is enclosed. Thank you for your efforts to provide a Philmont high adventure experience for your unit and for your service to Scouting.
