Troop 50
Rank Advancement Procedure
Updated June27, 2006
Upon Completion of the Requirements for your Next Rank Every Scout Should do the Following:
- Look over his handbook, review what you've learned, and be certain that the signatures and dates are in order. Some requirements are sequential and must be performed in proper order to be valid. Only troop approved leaders may sign your book.
- Call the Scoutmaster to request a Scoutmaster review. At this meeting you will review the skills you've learned, discuss your role in the success of the weekly meetings and outings and demonstrate "Scout Spirit". Take a moment to think about what that means to you.
- After you have completed a Scoutmaster conference, call the advancement chairman to request a board of review. Boards of Review are scheduled and often are listed on the troop event calendar.
- Appointments for Boards of Review should be made at least two weeks in advance of the board date. This allows us to schedule appointments properly and teach Scouts the time management skills necessary to implement an Eagle project. Planning and meeting deadlines are important in reaching any goal. Our Scouting program reinforces this important life skill.
- Attire for your Board of Review is the FULL class A uniform with neckerchief, all patches and insignias in place.
- Eagle board of reviews can be scheduled after the project is approved by the troop Eagle coordinator.
