Latest Info: 5/14/2010

By Wednesday May 19th I need the following for all scouts:

  • A check made out to Troop 50 for the balance of your payment
    • $270 for new scouts
    • $220 for scouts that paid the $50 deposit
  • If your scout wants to use their scout account money, complete a form on the scout website or in the church basement and attach it with any balance due.
  • If your scout wants to do the Horsemanship Merit Badge, include an additional $30 at this time.  This is very popular.  It will be full when we get to camp.
  • Does your scout require a special diet at camp? I need to know that by May 19th in writing.  Options are Vegetarian or Kosher.  If you select this, make sure your scout knows this and understands this will be their meal plan for camp. Attached is the troop form.  Complete it for your scout and I'll compile 1 for the troop.
  • If you know your scout will take the bus, then you may include that as well $90 Round trip ($45 each way)
    • If your scout is only going to take the bus one way, please indicate which direction.
  • Because there are 3,000 campers each summer, the council has asked us to handle medication forms a little different this year.
    • If your son takes regular medication please complete the attached, make sure it is included on your Medical form and put a note on it that refers to the full medical form.
    • If you would like your son to be able to get an OTC medicine at camp i.e. Tylenol or cough syrup, please also complete this form and write NON-Prescription Medication with the dosage instructions.  This does not require a physician's signature unless the dosage is different than that on the bottle. Standard Tylenol/Ibuprofen are available at camp.  Special cough syrup or allergy meds that are OTC need to be given to the adult in charge at camp and they will be checked into the nurse's office.

I will be at circle-up May 12th and May 19th.  You can also drop it at my house, 1020 Kenton Road, Deerfield, but be certain to send me an email that you have done so.

We will have a  critical meeting June 2nd at 8pm for a parent and scout to attend to:

  • Collect any outstanding forms (I need 3 copies of your scouts medical forms with Part A, B & C completed with Physician signature)
  • Collect bus payment if not paid earlier.
  • Collect merit badges your scout is interested to work on at MJKW (.pdf to come soon with the options)

Planning ahead:

  • Bus will depart from the South-East parking lot of Northbrook Court near Neiman-Marcus on Sunday July 11th at 8:00am. sharp.  All scouts taking the bus need to arrive at 7:30am.  If you miss the bus, you'll have to drive on your own.
  • Bus will return to same location as the departure at approximately 3:30pm Saturday July 17th.
